Baby's got an 8 track mind: I'm sorry but

thebonegarden:

There will never be another revolution until people stop looking at society and saying “Wow, that’s depressing.”

Look at it and say “Yikes, society isn’t in the greatest shape right now, but we still have THIS, and THIS, and THIS, and we just need to do THIS to make it better. I’m going to spread…

A New Year's Resolution for the Rich

mindylikescake:

“We now live in a country in which the bottom 40 percent (120 million people) owns just 0.3 percent of the wealth. Data of this kind make one feel that one is participating in a vast psychological experiment: Just how much inequality can free people endure?” —Sam Harris, Huffington Post

Got this from a facebook status of someone I know. there is a whole argument about whether or not the policy of “redistribution of wealth” is a valid point and whther or not wealthier people should even give a damn.

They should. Andrew Carnegie had the right idea. If I made a trillion dollars, I’d be so willing to give all that away and help people around the world. I’d be so willing to let the government tax me more than people less fortunate than I. There would be no question.

Shit responses people gave to this article:

Douche response 1:

“What if you built that lifeboat yourself, as well as the second lifeboat. Shouldn’t the choice, as to what to do with those lifeboats, belong to you? You didn’t have to build them in the first place. Furthermore, what incentive will I have to make lifeboats in the future if they are just going to be taken away from me without my consent?”

DOUCHE RESPONSE #2

As a smart man told me: “Between bailing out bloated carmakers, forgiving bad mortgages inthe past 10 years and giving away health care to 50 million people… our government is racking up inconceivable debts.”

The bott…om line is we are putting future generations in a massive debt hole they will never pay off or get out of. The government will eventually hike taxes in teh short-term and tax the shit out of anyone with a few dollars ts to his name. The top 1% of the wealthy in this nation already pay 40% of the country’s taxes. The top 5% pay something like 70%. Is this fair? Just because these people accomplished the American dream does not mean they are obligated to give away their wealth to those who don’t have it. What liberal minds don’t realize is that we CANNOT live in a world where everyone is well off. Proverty is a nececssary evil. No nation on this planet is without it.

This is not about just the rich either. This is for anyone with a “lifeboat” of savings. If you become successful and save all your life is it fair that the government force you to give up your wealth to those who don’t have anything? And worse, to give it to those too lazy to work for anything?! I’m broke myself but everyone has the sole right to decide where their money should go.

ughhh there’s so much more that people are saying but I really don’t want to post all of it unless some of you ask. It makes me so angry that people think like this.

Thoughts?

Will I lose a follower because of this? maybe. don’t care.
